Jewish Tradition


One of the traditions that the Jewish people have is the tradition to light a candle.  This is not just a regular candle it is called a Yiskor candle.  The reason that the name sounds foreign is because it is.  The name is from a language called Hebrew.  The Jewish language.  The candle burns for a long time, and some times for 24 hours.  The reason for the candle is to remember the lives lost and the torture that some went through.  The pain that they endured and the pain that they suffered through all those years.  For the ones we lost the brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, and all other relatives that were lost.  When you light this candle think of the twelve million that were murdered helplessly.  Think of the rest of their lives, the lives they did not get to live.
